Height, safe access, framing and the extent of damage need checking. Loose or unsafe ceilings require assessment before repair.

Stained, softened or swollen plasterboard replaced after the cause is resolved.

The leak must be fixed and the area fully dry. Mould, hidden damage and hazardous materials need separate assessment.

Repair trade access cut-outs and replace damaged sections or full sheets.

Confirm the services inside the wall are safe and the trade work is complete before closing an opening.
